Forget Newtown. (How can we?) … How many have been killed in America since Newtown?

Don’t if you’re a Virginia Senate Republican, or a survivalist, or an insurrectionist, or an imaginary-militia member, or a tyranny fighter, or grocery shop with an AR-15, or Wayne LaPierre, or a Jimmy Lee Dykes wannabe, or a paranoid they’re-comin’-fer-ma-guns! constitutionalist [institutionalist?], or a Rush Limbaugh ditto-head, or just a good old swallowed-the-NRA-fear-mongering-hook-line-and-sinker guns-n-ammo guy. Responsible, level-headed gun owners – go ahead and take a peek.)
It’s true some guns are used each day for self-defense, but for what else?
(And this doesn’t list the Navy Seal in Texas, the bus driver in Alabama, the 3-year-old shot accidentally with a little pink (real) gun in Miami, etc., etc., etc.)
There are many responsible gun owners (probably most). But there are many who are not. And some guns just get away.
To paraphrase James Carville, “It’s the Guns, Stupid.”
Virginia and Virginians deserve better.
